I was selected to speak at SQL Saturday #649 Jacksonville, to be held August 12, 2017! It is an honor to be included in the lineup since this is the milestone 10th anniversary of the event.
This is the 649th SQL Saturday event overall. For a little perspective on how much this event and technology have changed, check out the Session Glimpse for SQL Saturday #3 Jacksonville from 2008!
My session focuses on migrating existing on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure SQL DB.
If you think performing a backup and restore will work, I suggest you attend my session!
I will open with an overview of the Azure SQL DB platform, and continue with demonstrations of migrating SQL Server databases to Azure SQL Database.
As Microsoft continues developing the product, and as more companies are moving databases to the cloud, it is increasingly important for technology professionals to understand how to get started on the platform.
This talk will benefit those who are just getting started with Azure, as well as those familiar with Azure but not using Azure SQL DB.
If you looked at the sessions from the 2008 event, you can see technology changes quickly. SQL Saturdays provide sessions on a variety of technologies for all levels of experience. Many sessions focus on professional growth and are not technical at all.
Past attendees understand the rewards of attending SQL Saturdays. If have never attended, here’s hoping #649 in Jacksonville is your first!
